Two persons injured by a boat

Sunday afternoon around 5:00 pm, police and ambulance were requested with urgency to assist some swimmers, who were severely injured, in Boca Catalina.

The first report was that a swimmer was injured by a boat. When they arrived, nobody was there. They received information that the same boat that hurt, what appeared to be two swimmers, transported the victims to Fisherman’s Hut to receive medical attention.

Two ladies were swimming a bit far from the catamaran they were on. The driver of the boat, Devine (A2353), said that he did not see them because they did not have a buoy with them indicating their presence in the water.

The first ambulance that arrived at the site started treating the victim most seriously injured. A few moments later, the other ambulance arrived. Both victims were transported to the Hospital.

One of the victims was injured at her leg and head and the other at her arm. Both had deep and visible cuts.

Unfortunately, such a tragedy could happen on the sea if we don’t take the necessary precautions.
