Daphne Lejuez not sure she will continue in politics

“This month marks one year that I left the political party MEP and coalition and became an independent Parliamentarian. Today I realized even more that my reasons for leaving the political party and coalition have been proved and confirmed,” that is what Daphne Lejuez expressed today.

A party and coalition that is not self-critical, using character assassination or irregularly retiring a Minister for not agreeing with them or for pointing-out bad governance or possible corruption.  No respect for the constitution, rules of procedure, and democratic processes during meetings in Parliament, where instead of being critical and ask to hold the administration accountable and how they are using public funds, they choose to support, with emotional speeches without content and they praise the bad management like cheerleaders to keep the coalition standing.

“Truth is that Covid hit our country very hard, just like every other part of the world, and a great part of how they managed the pandemic was responsible. But if we look at everything that is coming to light regarding how politics is done and governing the country to benefit friends & family and campaign sponsors comparing that to the government before this one, nothing has changed!”

Daphne Lejuez questions that “members of the party and coalition are quick to scold someone for not being at work, just for being critical y asking the government to give account, while they themselves are playing political games and even launching a new logo and campaigning during working hours. These things reinforce my motivation and decision to distance myself from this type of traditional politics.”

She finalized by writing, “I’m not sure if I will continue in politics because it’s a very negative, destructive sphere, which is probably why every poll reflects the lack of trust the people have in politics, ministers, and parliamentarians. I would really want to see a change in this, but it will require more than just my desires and willingness – it would require actions from the community when voting during an election. You can count on me that I will continue working and contributing to this arena to help our people progress one way or another. We must do everything we can to regain the trust, hope, and possibility for a future for our people and future generations so that our country and its people can regain the courage and willingness to progress. Together we can, and our community deserves this,” Parliamentarian Daphne Lejuez finalized saying.
