Minister Dangui Oduber: the Pre-registration for the Vaccine has Started

Aruba is thoroughly preparing to receive the first set of vaccines. Minister Dangui Oduber announced that the first vaccines will be arriving on the 15th of February 2021. The first vaccines that Aruba will receive are Pfizer vaccines, which seem to be the most effective as of yet.

The Pfizer vaccine must be kept at a temperature of -80 degrees Celsius, which is why RIVM visited Aruba to examine the freezers. Additionally, RIVM also looked into our plan of action and our vaccination sites. We are very satisfied with the results of the RIVM evaluation. They were impressed with how Aruba was preparing for the first vaccines.

It is important to mention that starting the 1st of February, anyone who has a smartphone and wishes to be vaccinated can pre-register via the Aruba Health App. This is available for download in the Google Playstore and the Apple App Store. Once downloaded, the pre-registration for the vaccine can commence.

Those who do not have a smartphone can register starting on the 8th of February 2021 at all MFA locations. There will be DVG personnel to assist and guide all those who wish to register. Aruba has shown to be a worldwide pioneer with the use of the Aruba Health App, which is not only used to manage the PCR tests for locals and tourists alike, but now can also be used to register for the vaccine, list the inventory of the vaccine, and monitor the temperature of the freezers.

We have become internationally recognized for our innovation and are seen as trendsetters in all that is being done to manage Covid-19. It is important that everyone on Aruba is vaccinated to protect ourselves and gain a population immunity so that we can leave Covid-19 behind us.

Everyone wishes to return to normal and the vaccine is definitely a tool to help us reach this goal. We have to restore our tourism, our economy and our Island says, minister Oduber. Let us all unite in this cause by motivating and recommending each other to take the vaccine.
