ODEA is thankful to those who accepted to be the first to receive the COVID-19 vaccine

“We as nurses are called upon first to receive the COVID-19 vaccine to guarantee that we can continue to provide care without sacrificing our own health, the health of our family and our community”, according to Aruba’s Nurses Organization (ODEA). In a press report, the organization indicated that the vaccine will not put an end to the COVID virus, but it will surely allow us to fight against the pandemic with less strain on medical care.

“We as nurses are required to get vaccinated at the start of our education, with the necessary Hepatitis-B vaccine. We could have never imagined that we would experience a pandemic in which we are faced with the decision to take the vaccine against COVID-19. The way we see it, all healthcare workers do not hesitate to take the vaccine”, the press report goes on.

Take the vaccine

ODEA encourages that all people who work directly or indirectly in care to take the vaccine to protect themselves first and foremost. Aruba, now more than ever, needs every professional to be able to continue their fight against this virus that has come to stay and has affected the whole world. In addition to asking the community to take the vaccine, ODEA asks that we continue to follow the COVID guidelines and protocols at all times.

They ask that everybody register in order to help DVG colleagues who are registering and planning the actions surrounding the vaccination so that everything can run efficiently and that the majority of the population of Aruba can receive their vaccine at the stipulated time. ODEA congratulates every colleague and all those who work in the care sector for being the example for all those who are still doubting. “We wish all care workers a lot of strength to move forward in this pandemic”, states ODEA in the press report.
