SIMAR: There are many buildings for education but minister seeks to rent new ones

The labor union that represents teachers does not understand Government’s management regarding infrastructure. There are enough buildings, and yet they are still searching for other facilities to rent.

This concern has been brought to the attention of SIMAR. There are different abandoned school buildings, like that of Reina Beatrix and Juliana School. Now they are looking for a building to rent from or for an international school. This while other schools are situated in buildings that aren’t fit for the schools.

SIMAR’s president, Josephine Albertus, said that it would be better to gather the necessary funds to fix these schools so children and students could have a proper learning location. An elementary school is renting the VAD building, but it does not offer them quality nor adequate space.

SIMAR has a lot of questions. They are concerned because the type of buildings many schools are in are for emergency and do not offer the possibility to give quality education that the students of Aruba deserve. There are a lot of concerns.
