It could have been much worse

An accident that could have been devastating was prevented for the most part due to slamming on the brakes. When attempting to pass a car, the driver miscalculated the distance, which resulted in a head-on collision into oncoming traffic.

Thursday morning at around 8:30 am on a road in San Miguel, a Suzuki Ignis and a Toyota Yaris collided. The driver of the Yaris was overtaking other cars when they failed to notice oncoming traffic.

The Suzuki Ignis, however, did notice the Yaris heading its way but there was little they could do. The driver of the Ignis slammed their foot on the brake, leaving behind a long trail of tire tracks on the road, but was unfortunately unable to stop completely. The crash was not as devastating as it could have been thanks to this quick reaction at the last second.

They both narrowly avoided an intense impact that could have had grave consequences. Both cars had minimal damage and both drivers were virtually unscathed.
