Fiscal action plan is ready

One of the things stated in the ‘Landspakket,’ which was agreed upon with the Netherlands to get the loan, was that on March 1st, the Government had to hand in a plan on how they would revise the fiscal system of Aruba.

The Netherlands asked to revise the fiscal and tax system on income. Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes emphasized during a press conference this week that this is not about the reform but an action plan on revising this.

Also included in this part is an action plan that must stimulate payment compliance from the clients of DIMP. A third part consists of an action plan to optimize the Tax Department’s functioning (DIMP).

Aruba has complied with all the action plans and has handed in all the necessary documents. This part has nothing to do with the process of reforming the fiscal system yet.
