Pedro Charro Kelly laid to rest

Family and the political world said their farewell to Pedro Charro Kelly Saturday at the Santa Anna church in Noord. Despite the situation of the pandemic, many came to pay their last respect to the politician. 

Amongst those who came to say goodbye to Kelly was, AVP delegation, led by ex-prime ministers Mike Eman and Nelson Oduber. Minister Andin Bikker was also seen at the funeral. Ex-governor Fredis Refunjol, members of the press who worked during the time of Kelly, and personages from the commercial and business world were at the funeral. They all had nice words to say about the ex-politician—a sincere and humble person.

It was the morning of March 1st that the news broke that Pedro Pablo “Charro” Kelly, 79, had died at his home in Tanki Leendert. He was battling with his health for years. Kelly left to mourn two children and grandchildren who loved him dearly.

Charro Kelly had an impressive political career which included participation as a politician on the political party MEP, and then founded his own party ADN, Accion Democratico Nacional. He focused on Aruba entirely but never hid his special love for Noord.
