In the afternoon hours, the police, fire department, and the Arikok National Park park rangers rushed to Conchi, where there was a body floating in the water.
Seeing as how it was difficult to get this person out of the water, the coast guard was called to assist in the retrieval. Unfortunately, when they got the body to shore, there was no longer anything that could be done to save their life. Dr. Texier decalred the amreican tourist, 42-year-old Neftaly Torres’s death at 3:55 pm. The investigation team, as well as the victim support team, were also present to provide the family and loved ones with much-needed support during this difficult time.
