On June 16th, the Parliamentary Tourism Commission met with the CEO of the Aruba Tourism Authority (A.T.A.), Ronella Croes; CFO Maas van Drie; and Business Manager Dyane Vis-Escalona for the presentation of A.T.A.’s 2024 annual report. This meeting followed a formal request from the commission for a direct update from A.T.A.
According to the law, A.T.A. submits its annual report to the Supervisory Board by April 1st each year for review. Afterward, the report is sent to the Minister of Tourism for further examination once the Supervisory Board completes its evaluation. Along with the budget, the report is then submitted to the Parliament of Aruba, where it remains available for at least 10 working days. During this time, members can review the report, ask questions, and provide comments if needed. This process happens only after the Minister of Tourism has approved the document.
Key highlights from A.T.A.’s presentation
During the meeting, A.T.A. gave a thorough and detailed presentation covering its marketing and promotion efforts in North America, Latin America, and Europe. They also shared progress on initiatives aimed at improving and developing Aruba’s tourism offerings. The presentation included relevant tourism statistics, sector developments, and the economic impact of tourism on the island.

Members of the Parliamentary Tourism Commission asked questions and expressed their satisfaction with the responses and information provided. A.T.A. welcomed the opportunity to engage in this constructive dialogue, which helps deepen understanding of the challenges and progress within the tourism sector—and ultimately benefits Aruba as a whole.
