Art Week Aruba has unveiled an extraordinary mural by Mexican artist Carlos Alberto at the San Nicolas police station. The artwork was created in two stages: the first, painted last year on the right side of the building, and the second, completed this year on the left.
When Carlos first began the project, support from the police was limited, and enthusiasm was low. Over the past year, however, attitudes have shifted. Officers have followed the project closely, offering encouragement and embracing the mural with appreciation.
Last Tuesday, senior officers joined the artist to celebrate the completion of the final section. The mural has transformed the police station, helping it feel more connected to the neighborhood it serves.
The artwork is a gift to the community, symbolizing that justice without humanity is law without a soul. It also demonstrates how art can inspire a fairer and brighter future for everyone.
