Aruba calls for action to keep popular areas clean

by Nicole

A major island-wide cleanup campaign will take place in Aruba on July 25 as part of National Cleanup Day, an initiative aimed at encouraging residents, businesses, and organizations to work together to keep the island clean.

One area receiving special attention is the surroundings of Aruba’s hotel zones, including Palm Beach, where concerns have been raised about increasing amounts of litter. The issue goes beyond common waste such as bottles and cans, with various types of trash being found in these popular areas.

Hotels are being encouraged to involve their employees and organize cleanup teams, with support from AHATA, to help maintain the areas around their properties. These locations are frequently visited by tourists, making their appearance an important part of Aruba’s image.

With nearly 1.2 million visitors arriving on the island each year, keeping tourist areas clean is considered essential to preserving Aruba’s reputation as a beautiful and welcoming destination.

Organizers are calling on the community and local businesses to participate in National Cleanup Day and contribute to a cleaner Aruba.
