Aruban talent is gaining international recognition, especially in the fields of music and education. 24ora’s correspondent in the Netherlands recently spoke with Jeremy Garcia, a young man from Aruba who is making a name for himself through music and academic achievement.
Garcia is currently studying to become a music teacher in the Netherlands and is completing his second degree program. “I’m almost done, and I’m really happy about that,” he said with a smile.
One of his most important recent projects was his Final Recital—a major performance that showcases all a student has learned over four years of study. “I had to show a little bit of everything I’ve done,” he explained. While most students present this recital in their final year, Garcia was invited to do his a year early, during his third year—something that rarely happens. “They saw that I’m already performing at a very professional level,” he said. “This isn’t just a hobby for me—it’s my job. And I do it with my whole heart.”

Grateful for the support
Garcia is an accomplished singer who regularly performs at events across the Netherlands. He’s also known for his appearance on The Voice and has participated in international shows, including weddings in England and performances in countries like Italy and Spain. His talent and dedication continue to open new doors.
For his final school performance, Garcia drew heavy inspiration from Aruba. The musicians he performed with weren’t just classmates—they were professional artists carefully selected for the event. “They’re good friends of mine, but also professionals in their own right. Truly top-level musicians.”
Garcia expressed his gratitude to 24ora and to everyone who has supported him along the way. As he nears graduation, this promising young artist shows no signs of slowing down. With both talent and drive, Jeremy Garcia is making Aruba proud.
