Authorities have seized more than three tons of cocaine in international waters off the coast of Aruba. The operation, which took place on June 27th, uncovered drugs valued at around 41 million dollars.
The Colombian Ministry of Defense announced the seizure, explaining that the cocaine was found aboard a go-fast boat traveling through Aruba’s international waters. The vessel had departed from northern Colombia, with the shipment reportedly destined for distribution in the United States and Europe.
In total, 3,515 kilos of cocaine were confiscated through a joint operation involving Colombian, Dominican, and U.S. authorities, including the FBI and the Coast Guard.

“Thanks to this joint operation, we were able to prevent 8.7 million doses from reaching international markets,” said Colombian Defense Minister Pedro Sanchez.
According to the minister, the shipment belonged to the Clan del Golfo, Colombia’s largest drug cartel, which operates across about a third of the country.
