Blackout: All of Aruba was left without power

On Saturday afternoon, several districts across Aruba lost power due to a major problem at WEB. Reports came in of outages at Queen Beatrix Airport, as well as in Playa, San Nicolas, and the Noord district.

N.V. Elmar announced on its Facebook page that it was a blackout caused by an interruption in electricity production at the WEB plant. Their technicians remained on standby until WEB resolved the issue, allowing Elmar to begin restoring power to the affected areas.
