Caribbean Town Aruba launches collaboration with artist Yahaira Maduro

by Nicole

In October 2021, during two informational evenings held at Cosecha San Nicolas and Oranjestad, Caribbean Town Aruba shared its vision of collaborating with local artists specializing in various disciplines, including painting, muralism, and more. These highly recognized Aruban artists were introduced to the Caribbean Town Aruba project and its goals.

The project’s mission is to feature a selected artist’s work on a beautiful mosaic tile, to be installed on the façades of buildings and homes throughout the Caribbean Town Aruba development. Some of these mosaics will be produced on a grand scale, covering up to 35 square meters, enhancing the front of the four buildings: Turks & Caicos, Guadeloupe, St. Lucia, and Barbados.

Caribbean Town Aruba’s vision is to energize the local creative sector, evoke a sense of joy, and—most importantly—emphasize the value of exposing children to art, opening their minds to new possibilities. The result is a community proud to be part of a development that is thoughtfully designed, from caring for the surrounding flora and fauna to embracing Aruban identity and culture by involving local artists.

Although the artistic side of the project was temporarily paused to focus on other construction matters, the team was encouraged by the overwhelmingly positive response from the artistic community. With renewed enthusiasm, Caribbean Town Aruba has resumed the artistic component. In early 2025, they reestablished contact with Iberia Tiles, a prestigious Spanish company. Through a meticulous process, Iberia Tiles reproduces artworks onto mosaic tiles using a patented nanopolymer material that is fire-resistant and highly durable.

Caribbean Town Aruba is now proud to announce a new collaboration with local artist Yahaira Maduro, renowned for her vibrant, expressive works that perfectly capture the joy the project seeks to convey. Yahaira dedicated the month of April 2025 to creating 12 heartfelt acrylic canvases in a Pop Art collection titled “Curason Contento” (Happy Heart), along with a stunning large-scale abstract piece titled “Bida Ta Dushi” (Life is Sweet).

Artist Ryan Leliendal also played a key role in the project, and Yahaira was able to count on the support of fellow artists to complete her work—highlighting the spirit of collaboration and kindness that defines the Aruban community. On May 6, 2025, Yahaira delivered her pieces in record time. Caribbean Town Aruba is proud to present this collection, which brings color, inspiration, and happiness to the development—enriching its spaces through the power of art.
