On Thursday afternoon, beachgoers were surprised to find a dead dolphin that had washed ashore along one of Aruba’s most visited beaches, directly in front of the Amsterdam Manor resort.
Among those present were several marine life protection activists who quickly assessed the situation. According to eyewitnesses, the dolphin appeared bloated, a sign that it had likely been dead for several days. The upper part of its body was reportedly close to bursting.
It has been approximately four years since a dolphin last washed ashore in Aruba. Police responded to the scene and remained on-site while awaiting the arrival of the local organization responsible for investigating such incidents.
