Late Wednesday night, an accident occurred in the Mahuma area near the airport.
While navigating the sharp turn toward the airport, a young driver lost control and slammed into a large kwihi tree, leaving the vehicle badly damaged. Fortunately, the driver was not injured.
Family members who arrived at the scene began searching for the dashcam’s memory chip, which had been ejected during the crash. They were hoping to review the footage to understand exactly what had caused the accident.
Forensys was called to the scene to assist with the insurance procedures. No injuries were reported, but the car was left undriveable.
