On Tuesday afternoon, a driver trying to avoid an accident ended up crashing into a police patrol car instead. The incident happened on Driemasterstraat.
A car was turning right from Professor Lorentzstraat onto Driemasterstraat and briefly crossed into the opposite lane. At the same time, a brand-new SUV was driving on Driemasterstraat, preparing to turn into Professor Lorentzstraat.
As the turning car edged into the SUV’s lane, the SUV driver swerved right to avoid a collision. However, a police patrol vehicle was driving beside the SUV. The two vehicles collided and came to a stop, pressed against each other.
In an attempt to prevent one accident, the driver caused another—this time involving a police car. Fortunately, no one was injured.
