The Royal Navy has awarded the prestigious instructor pin, ‘Het Uiltje,’ to three soldiers from Curaçao and one from Aruba.

The four new instructors were officially presented with the ‘Het Uiltje’ pin today, signifying their qualification to train new recruits. They will teach essential subjects such as self-help and assistance to comrades, laws and legal knowledge, map and compass skills, and marksmanship. Additionally, they are authorized to provide further training to professional soldiers.

This recognition highlights the vital role of well-trained instructors in military operations. Their expertise is crucial not only in the training and development of military personnel but also in fostering stronger cooperation between Caribbean and Dutch forces. Their efforts contribute significantly to regional security and the future effectiveness of joint operations.

Alongside the ‘Het Uiltje’ pin, seven instructors, including the four new awardees, were also presented with the ‘ECOD Assessor’ certificate, formally authorizing them to assess military personnel. These accolades underscore the invaluable contributions of instructors in shaping the future of the Royal Navy’s personnel.
