The Haitian community in Aruba is organizing a full weekend of activities in honor of Haiti’s Flag and Anthem Day, celebrated annually on May 18th.
According to Milaine Aristomene, president of the Busta John Aruba Foundation, the festivities began on Friday with soccer games at the Dakota Community Center. On Saturday, the celebration will move to the Playa Pabao Community Center, where various bands will perform. Food and drinks will be available, and the public is warmly invited to take part in the festivities.

On Sunday, the day will begin with a parade starting at the Dakota Community Center and ending in Lago Heights. After the parade, participants will gather once more at the Dakota Community Center. In the evening, celebrations will continue at the Lago Heights Community Center from 7 pm to midnight.
The Haitian community extends an open invitation to all residents of Aruba to come together in unity and celebrate Haiti’s Flag and Anthem Day as one people.
