The Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs, through the Department of Economic Affairs, has announced a reduction in gasoline and diesel prices, effective May 1, 2025.
Excise duties lowered on fuel
Starting May 1st, 2025, the Ministry will implement a reduction of 10 cents per liter in excise duties on both gasoline and diesel. This measure is aimed at easing the pressure on consumers’ purchasing power and giving businesses room to lower their operating costs.
What this means for consumers:
With this adjustment, fuel prices at the pump will drop noticeably:
- Gasoline will decrease from Afl. 2.40 to Afl. 2.28 per liter — a drop of 11.6 cents (-5.1%)
- Diesel will decrease from Afl. 2.06 to Afl. 1.95 per liter — a drop of 11.5 cents (-5.9%)
This price cut is expected to lower inflation by approximately 0.2%.

The decision by the AVP-Futuro Cabinet will have a real and direct impact on daily life in Aruba, particularly for families and businesses that rely on regular transportation.
The Ministry of Finance, Economic Affairs, and the Primary Sector will continue to monitor international developments and will review fuel prices again on May 14th, 2025.
The public will be kept informed of any future changes in global fuel prices.
