Last Thursday, Minister of Finance, Economic Affairs and the Primary Sector, Geoffrey Wever, announced that the design for the renovation of the Brisas del Mar pier in Savaneta is complete.
In recent weeks, officials toured Aruba to inspect the condition of piers across the island. These piers are vital to both the fishing industry and recreational activities for the community. Following the adjustments to the 2025 budget, 500,000 florins have been allocated for pier renovations. The Brisas del Mar pier will be the first to undergo work under the AVP-FUTURO government.
The project is part of the AVP-FUTURO 2025–2028 Government Program, which includes investments to improve infrastructure in agriculture, livestock, and fisheries. According to Minister Wever, this renovation fulfills the government’s commitment to strengthening the island’s primary sector.
“I am pleased and proud to announce that this project will begin in the coming days. The piers around our island are an essential part of the infrastructure needed for the fishing sector to grow and to support efforts to improve Aruba’s food security,” said Minister Wever.
