Police respond to domestic violence incident in Noord

On Thursday afternoon, police and ambulance services responded to a report of a shooting in Noord, where at least one person was reported injured.

When officers arrived, they found a man with visible injuries and a woman at the scene. The two are in a relationship. According to initial reports, the woman had called the police after her ex-boyfriend showed up at her home and began threatening her.

The woman told officers she believed her ex was armed and had seen what looked like a firearm. Police quickly gathered information on the vehicle he was driving and launched a search. A patrol unit located the car near CMB in Noord and stopped the suspect. He was arrested on the spot.

No weapon was found during the arrest.

Back at the home in Noord, ambulance staff treated the injured man. He did not require hospitalization. Police left the scene after speaking with the couple.

According to the woman, her ex-partner refuses to accept that their relationship is over and has been harassing her. The man who was attacked appeared shaken and upset by what happened.
