Since Tuesday, we’ve received numerous calls and pictures reporting the worsening conditions of several roads, particularly those affected by flooding. In response, we visited Parish Hillweg, which is currently under repair. Residents are urging the Department of Public Works (DOW) to assess the situation, as they seek assistance with the ongoing issues.
At Bottom Hillweg, conditions are similarly troubling. The heavy rainfall has caused the road to crack in several places. Drivers are proceeding cautiously, fearing damage to their vehicles, including shocks and CV joints.
Residents are also calling for DOW to address this situation immediately.
Further along, past the bridge near Madiki 70, the road is severely damaged, with large potholes creating a hazardous driving environment. In front of Madiki 67, once the water recedes, a foul odor remains, which is extremely unpleasant. Local residents are asking the authorities to inspect the situation and find a solution to the flooding in Madiki.

From Madiki, we traveled to Moko, where we encountered DOW workers addressing the issues and responding to residents’ concerns. The road repairs are underway, with workers focusing on alleviating flooding caused by standing water. DOW employees are actively working to resolve the issues.
In Bubali, reaching Madame Jeanette Restaurant or even the surrounding neighborhood has become a challenge due to the road conditions. Residents have raised alarms, requesting DOW to fix the road. The situation near Bubali Club remains unclear, as the area is also flooded. Local residents are worried that the rising water could prevent them from entering their homes. It’s crucial for DOW to inspect the situation. Similarly, the area near Cayena Mall in Dakota faces similar challenges, with roads severely impacted by flooding.

The restaurant owner and local residents are left uncertain, as they are unsure who will help resolve these ongoing issues.
Finally, in Noord, DOW is making progress, but many roads are still filled with potholes and require immediate repair. Patience is requested from residents, as DOW employees continue to address the high volume of requests. We ask for continued understanding as they work through the many roads in need of attention during this difficult time.
