On Tuesday evening, police conducted inspections at several strategic locations, focusing on public transportation. The Department of Public Transportation (DTP) also took part in the operation.
During the checks, authorities inspected a total of 168 vehicles, including taxis, buses, private transport, and tour vehicles. Of these, 30 drivers were fined for various violations, such as driving while under a ban. In addition, the DTP issued 34 reports to drivers who were not meeting the requirements of their permits.
While some drivers disagreed with the penalties, many welcomed the inspections and described the initiative as a positive step for improving public transportation. Police stated that similar checks will continue in the coming days.
