On Monday afternoon, a serious traffic accident took place in Piedra Plat after two minors took their parents’ car without permission.
With the parents away, the teenagers decided to drive the vehicle—a Nissan Juke—but lost control due to excessive speed. The car struck a light pole and overturned. The pole also supported a transformer, which led to a power outage in the surrounding area.
Although both minors reported no injuries and appeared only shaken, ambulance personnel conducted a precautionary medical evaluation.
The incident has left the parents facing significant and unexpected repair costs, estimated to be in the thousands of florins.
