It’s not often that a local band, like ‘N FUZION, will have the unique opportunity in their career to be the opening act for a globally renowned singer like Mariah Carey. This will happen on May 25th next at the Harbour Arena during the 20th anniversary of the Aruba Soul Beach Music Festival.
Thursday afternoon, Ofo Escudero signed the contract along with Chido Henriquez, representing the organizers of this major event. Undoubtedly, this is one of the events, if not the only one, that attracts a large number of tourists who spend a lot and come every year.
“Brother, how proud are you? I’m super proud,” Ofo Escudero reacted after we took note of his post on social media. He acted as if this was “just another gig,” without realizing that this will be the gig where the most globally recognized artists will share the stage with them. Immediately, they began preparing the repertoire that ‘N FUZION will present on this night, to please the tourists and locals attending Soul Beach.
Regarding the Soul Beach Music Festival 2024
Between May 22nd and 27th, 2024, Aruba will host the 22nd edition of the Soul Beach Music Festival during Memorial Day Weekend. The event will feature a lineup with Earthquake as the main artist on Saturday, followed by the great artist Mariah Carey who will put on a show on Saturday and will culminate the weekend with Boyz II Men as the main artist on Sunday. It is estimated that several thousand visitors will come to Aruba for this event week.
The contract was not extended: This is the last Soul Beach
It should be mentioned that in the meantime, the Aruba Tourism Authority has informed the organizers that this year will be the last event that will have the sponsorship of their funds. There are several reasons for this, but one main reason is the season in which it is organized. Most hotels are already full, and there is no space to accommodate soul music enthusiasts. Another issue is the artists chosen to bring to Aruba. It is not known if there will be an opening in the negotiations, but the final decision was that the ATA, in any case, will no longer sponsor this event.
