Deal for Ferris Wheel and Bell Pepper Plantation from the Netherlands is in Progress

Recently, a press conference was held to discuss the recent achievements and future plans stemming from the Aruba Investment Summit in the Netherlands.

Minister Geoffrey Wever indicated that although the summit took place a couple of months ago, its impact continues to resonate, especially through remarkable projects such as the development of a Ferris Wheel. This initiative exemplifies our commitment to promoting economic growth and innovation in Aruba.

Establishing Valuable Connections

The Aruba Investment Summit served as a vital platform to establish connections with individuals and organizations from the Netherlands. A significant outcome is our commitment to a large-scale bell pepper production company. Such a company will boost our local agricultural sector. Conversations have begun, and the Government of Aruba has provided detailed information about the market, including import quantities and demand forecasts, which will facilitate this potential collaboration.

Upcoming Business Engagements

In addition to agricultural initiatives, we are preparing to host a group of entrepreneurs on August 1st in a virtual session. This session will provide an in-depth overview of Aruba’s fiscal system, helping foreign investors understand the benefits of doing business here. Transparency and clear communication about our economic policies are crucial for attracting and retaining investment.

Progress in Key Projects

We have also requested budgets from different companies to support our initiatives and are organizing these efforts. A prominent project, the Ferris Wheel, is progressing at the governmental level, driven by departmental initiatives. This project promises not only to enhance our tourist attractions but also to symbolize our broader ambitions for infrastructure development.

Cooperation in Agriculture

There is more work in progress, including a meeting with Wageningen University and a company called Priva, recognized for its expertise in agricultural technology. Together, they aim to launch a commercial agriculture project in Aruba. This project intends to revolutionize our agricultural landscape by introducing modern technology and sustainable practices. We are currently negotiating with the Dutch government regarding the project’s location and other logistical details, which are crucial for its success.

Ongoing and Future Activities

These efforts are already bearing fruit. Connections are being solidified, and various discussions between Aruban companies and our contacts in the Netherlands have begun. These dialogues are opening new avenues for cooperation and mutual benefit. The goal is to create a solid network of businesses and institutions that can drive innovation and economic growth in Aruba.

We are enthusiastic about the possibilities these initiatives present, and the government is confident that with continued collaboration, remarkable results can be achieved. Several businesspeople have already visited Aruba and met with the government.

Such efforts take time, but building a network and making progress are happening within this framework.
