Dollars and pesos stolen: tourist robbed with a weapon in hotel area

Last night, just after 9:00 pm, authorities were notified of a mugging in the tourist area. Two tourists were mugged in a parking lot near Dunkin’ Donuts. A police patrol was dispatched to the scene.

Upon the arrival of the patrol unit, they encountered the Mexican couple who told the police about the mugging. They told the police officers that a short while earlier, two men had snuck out of the bushes and approached them using an icepick. One of the men was dressed in a white shirt and black pants and was dark-skinned. They couldn’t get a good look at the other man.

The muggers managed to escape with a wallet containing dollars and pesos as well as credit and debit cards. The muggers then fled on foot.

The Robbery Department arrived at the scene to conduct their investigation. The Victim Support Department was also present to provide support to the tourists.
