The Boss himself went to get it done: San Nicolas woke up without power

Today, the San Nicolas area started out their day with an issue in their power distribution. Around 7:30 am, power went out in the Lagoville area and surrounding neighborhoods. According to NV ELMAR, the cause of the interruption is due to a faulty underground cable.

Jonathan van der Linden, NV ELMAR’s Department Head of Operations, personally went to the site to get informed, identify the issue, and ensure its immediate correction. This goes to show that management is also directly connected and concerned with power distribution issues.

By 8:45 am, power was restored to all affected customers. Despite fixing the fault in just over an hour, the inconvenience combined with the fact that this has become a nearly daily occurrence in Aruba, leaves people frustrated and upset. It does not help change the public perception that the company’s management lacks control due to maintenance work failures in recent years. It is feared that we will continue in the same situation for at least another two years.
