On Thursday morning around 12:40 am, an accident occured on the Nelson Orlando Oduber Avenue right past the Super Food roundabout in the direction of Palm Beach.
Here, a speeding white Toyota Yaris lost control, flipped twice and landed right side up. A couple on vacation in a rental car saw the entire incident. At the scene, they told 24ora.com and TREMPAN that the vehicle flipped a few times and that they also saw flames out of the back of the car.
There was considerable material damage. Even a wheel came off the vehicle mid accident. The wheel ended up around 10 meters away from where the vehicle landed. The car was completely totaled. The female driver was the only occupant of the vehicle and even though the impact of the crash was strong, she received only minor injuries.
As the tourist said: “It’s a miracle that she’s alive.” Paramedics assisted the driver at the scene while police documented the accident.
