The week of national celebration opened with some unfortunate news. This morning around 11:30 am, reports came in that a sculpture in front of UNOCA on Stadionweg was stolen. The sculpture was of Padu Lampe. On the pedestal, the colors of our flag can be appreciated together with the sculptures of the authors of our National Anthem, Rufo Wever, Hubert Booi and Juan Chabaya (Padu Lampe). Now, the pedestal is missing one of the key authors of Aruba’s anthem.
Police documented all obtainable details and launched an investigation immediately to find out who committed the cowardly act and why this was done.
