The car swerved off the road, hit some poles, hit the sidewalk, and then went crashing at high speed into the streetlight. The police arrived and at first, there was no one at the scene.
This took place at approximately 12:40 am in Oranjestad, near Zara. Those responsible did everything possible to leave the scene without any trace, they even removed the license plate. There were three people in the car, and they fled.
Guilt must have set in because a while later, the driver returned to the scene of the accident. There was also a chance to see the extensive damage caused both to his vehicle and the surroundings.
The police detained him as he was under the influence.
