Early Friday morning at around 1:00 am, an accident occurred at the sharp turn in Franse Pas, where a car crashed into a streetlight.
Police arrived and found a white pickup at the scene. The driver of the pickup had apparently lost control at the turn and hit the streetlight, consequently breaking it. Police closed both sides of the road to prevent traffic from passing since the light pole was on the road.
An ambulance was requested as the driver had a head injury. After the driver received medical assistance, the police arrested him. They did this because they suspected that the driver was under the influence of alcohol.
