Tourism continues to grow: nearly 90 million dollars generated in the first quarter

The Minister of Tourism and Public Health, Dangui Oduber, informed the community about the tourism results for the first quarter of 2024. Analysis showed that the demand for Aruba remains high.

Minister Oduber is satisfied with the positive results of April. In April 2024, Aruba received 121,215 visitors, marking a 9.7% increase. Aruba welcomed a total of 96,060 cruise tourists. Visitors are satisfied with Aruba, rating the “Guest Experience” at 9.0. The best-rated category is the environment, with a score of 9.4. The economic impact is measured with an Average Daily Rate (ADR) of $294 and an Occupancy Rate of 57%, generating $20,155,958 in revenue for April 2024.

The minister noted that the first quarter of 2024 was very positive for Aruba.

  • January 2024 saw 117,172 visitors and welcomed a total of 123,374 cruise tourists. The economic impact is measured with an ADR of $310 and an Occupancy Rate of 77.9%, generating $27,076,500 in revenue for January 2024.
  • In February 2024, there were 122,149 visitors to Aruba, with a total of 128,386 tourists. The economic impact is measured with an ADR of $284 and an Occupancy Rate of 78.2%, generating $22,005,276 in revenue for February 2024.
  • March 2024 received 141,380 visitors, marking a 25.8% growth compared to the same month in 2023. The economic impact is measured with an ADR of $296 and an Occupancy Rate of 70.1%, generating $22,856,992 in revenue for March 2024.
  • April 2024 saw 121,215 visitors to Aruba and welcomed a total of 96,060 cruise tourists. The economic impact is measured with an ADR of $294 and an Occupancy Rate of 57%, generating $20,155,958 in revenue for April 2024.

In conclusion, Minister Oduber stated that he is satisfied that Aruba remains a precious destination for many visitors in the Caribbean. The results show consistently high numbers, confirming proper management.
