A tragic incident occurred on Monday morning. A serious problem involving dogs could have had even more serious consequences if not for the swift reactions of citizens and the police.
The incident took place just before 11:00 am, and the police who arrived at the scene decided to shoot the pitbull that was responsible for what happened.
The pitbull had attacked and severely injured another dog near Piedra Plat 19. When the police arrived at the scene, they noted that the pitbull was attacking the other dog ferociously. They tried to control the pitbull by calling out to it and shouting, but the dog did not respond. The officers then drew their weapons, and as soon as they had a clear sight of the dog, they shot it.
Afterwards, they began investigating what had happened to prevent such incidents in the future. A neighbor who witnessed everything stated that both dogs were tied up.
Thankfully neither of these vicious dogs managed to escape into the neighborhood, as there is a school nearby.
