Many cars stopped during police drunk driving inspection

In an effort to improve road safety and reduce incidents related to alcohol consumption, the Police Corps conducted an extensive traffic control operation.

This project focused mainly on the areas near nightclubs around the island, from north to south, where extensive inspections were carried out on different vehicles.

During the operation, police managed to arrest more than 10 people who were driving under the influence of alcohol.

The control operation was not without incidents. At one point during the control, one of the vehicles struck a police officer and then fled the scene during the process at the Drive-Inn area, prompting a quick intervention by the officers. Unfortunately, they were unable to apprehend the driver, who escaped on foot.

The police motorcycle unit played a crucial role in the success of the operation. Despite some setbacks, their quick response and ability to handle difficult situations ensured that the control process took place efficiently and orderly. The motorcycle unit highlighted the importance of these controls and reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining public road safety, especially in areas with night activity.

This operation not only underscores the Police’ dedication in the fight against drunk driving but also the need for drivers to be more responsible and aware of the dangers of alcohol when driving. Authorities will continue to implement these measures to ensure the safety of all citizens on the road.
