Minister Wever: Post Aruba Require Experts to Do the Job

Recently, there has been a development at Post Aruba N.V., where through an internal memo and later via a press release, it was confirmed that Guillermo Raymond is no longer the director of Post Aruba. Instead, Esther Gomes and Ramoncito Croes have taken the helm and are now leading Post Aruba. Minister Geoffrey Wever thanked Raymond for his 40 years of service at Post Aruba.

However, there was not much information about this drastic change at Post Aruba. Minister Geoffrey Wever was found at Reina Beatrix International Airport late Monday afternoon just before he boarded Suriname Airways for a commercial mission.

According to Wever, Post Aruba has been experiencing significant financial and operational difficulties for quite some time. To stabilize the company, different changes need to be made. Recently, various reports have indicated the necessity of structural changes at Post Aruba.

Since last year, there has been a new board of commissioners with the expertise to ensure a successful reorganization of Post Aruba. Now that the board of commissioners is in place, Wever indicated that “things can start to move” at Post Aruba.

The need for people with expertise to make changes is precisely the reason why Esther Gomes and Ramoncito Croes have been put in charge of Post Aruba and Guillermo Raymond was dismissed. Post Aruba will see different changes, especially in the digital process. Privatizing Post Aruba is not an option yet, according to Minister Geoffrey Wever.
