Aruba Airport Authority N.V. (AAA) is pleased to share the new routes and additional frequencies of Delta Air Lines for the upcoming winter season, reinforcing its commitment to providing passengers with more travel options.

Delta Air Lines Announces “Largest-Ever Winter Latin Schedule”

Delta Air Lines is expanding its winter schedule with several important destinations from its hub at Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport (MSP). The airline will introduce a direct flight once again to Aruba (AUA) starting on December 20, 2024. The direct flights to Aruba will be on Fridays and Sundays. This marks the return of the MSP-AUA route, which was last operated in 2018 with a weekly flight on Saturday.

With the new schedule, Delta Air Lines will increase the number of flights to two weekly flights from MSP, complementing the weekly Saturday flights offered by Sun Country. For January and February, Sun Country will increase the frequency to three weekly flights (Saturday, Sunday, and Wednesday), resulting in a combined total of 5 weekly flights between MSP and AUA.

Delta Air Lines’ winter schedule for this season will include daily flights from New York (JFK) and will expand with an additional weekly flight starting January 11, 2025. The double daily operation from Atlanta (ATL) will commence on December 19, 2024. Daily flights from Boston (BOS) will resume on December 19, 2024, and the two weekly flights from MSP on Fridays and Sundays will begin on December 20, 2024.

The additional flights will increase the seat capacity from 95,705 and 521 flights during the 2023-2024 winter season to 103,333 seats and 553 flights in the next winter season. The impressive increase of 8% in seats and 6% in flights demonstrates Delta Air Lines’ confidence in Aruba as a destination within its global network.

Jo-Anne Meaux Arends, Aviation Business Development Executive at Aruba Airport, expressed her enthusiasm for the return of the route: “The return of the MSP route and the increase in flight frequencies confirm the high demand and the airline’s willingness to explore different gateways during the peak winter season, particularly for those escaping the cold and seeking the warmth of our One Happy Island. The incorporation of the new MSP route with Delta Air Lines further extends and diversifies the North American market for Aruba, enhancing connectivity and access from one destination to another.”
