Minister of Tourism plans to continue improving Aruba as a product

The vision is to keep investing in Aruba as a product, where tourism is diversified and thus attracts affluent tourists. However, the management also focuses on the safety of the tourists who visit our island.

In this context, the Minister of Tourism, Dangui Oduber, in collaboration with the Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA), has delivered a project where buoys have been placed at Arashi, Boca Catalina, and Eagle Beach.

This is one of the many projects that ATA has in its corporate plan for improving Aruba as a product.

Minister Oduber has ensured that his management is based on the tourists who are willing and able to spend money whilst visiting the island. This means that the focus will be on the profile of the ‘High Value Low Impact’ tourists. Consequently, the development of Aruba as a product must also reflect this. These are the tourists who earn more than 150 thousand dollars per year and who will respect our nature and cultural values.

The buoy project aims to provide more safety for both local swimmers and tourists, creating a special area where people can swim without the risk of jetskis, waverunners, or any speedboats nearby.

Finally, the minister wanted to thank ATA for making the funds available to make this project a reality. An investment that will guarantee the safety of everyone swimming in these areas.

Aruba’s tourism remains crucial as it continues to be the driver of our economy.
