A serious incident occurred on Pindastraat last night. There was an altercation that escalated beyond control. The victim, Esdras Daniel Tejada, born January 7, 1989, in the Dominican Republic, was severely beaten and died at the scene. He was 35 years old.
At around 7:50 PM, the central police station was notified of the fight. A police patrol was dispatched and found the man with serious head injuries. Various departments were called to the scene to handle the case. The man had sustained multiple blows to his head, resulting in severe injuries.
An ambulance was requested to treat the injuries, and while paramedics tirelessly worked on the victim, there was nothing more they could do for him. Esdras Daniel Tejada succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Police detained two individuals. One arrest was directly related to the death of 35-year-old Tejada, while the other individual was detained for obstructing the police in performing their duties.
Initial reports indicate that Tejada was struck with a sharp object, but the ongoing investigation will confirm this. The case is currently under police investigation.
