Jeon, our national pride, is gearing up for his next international project. Currently, he is in Miami, where he is working on a new album, this time at a higher level.
Naturally, 24ora.com is also in Miami to converse with him about his new endeavor. He told us that everything is going very well. This is an album he has really been taking his time on. For two years, everyone asked him for something international, something new, and now the time has finally arrived!
He went on to say that he will release a full album as well as some music videos; they will just be a bit more aggressive compared to his usual marketing tactics. Normally, it’s one song at a time. But this time, it’s several songs at once. Jeon is sure that fans will like this after a long time without hearing anything new.
THE PROCESS
The album has several songs, most of them are in Spanish, although there are a few in Papiamento as well. Jeon recounts that in the beginning, it was very difficult because he did not know how to speak Spanish.
When he went to live in Miami, he adapted. He had many Cuban friends. So he began learning to speak Spanish. Now he is much more comfortable with recording in Spanish. The album itself took a lot of time to record because he wanted it to be done right. Jeon made sure to stay true to himself, with only the language changing to Spanish. The challenge was very tough at the beginning, but now he’s got the flow. He feels a bit Cuban himself.
THE GENRE
Since he was young, Jeon has considered himself a very versatile artist and can sing a bit of everything. The album itself is urban, but when you listen to it, you can see the difference in each song. None are too similar to the other, so each song stands on its own.
FEATURED ARTISTS
There will be many surprises on this album, according to Jeon. There will be some great featured artists as well. As he mentioned, this took some time, as each artist has their schedule, and Jeon is very happy with the result. The album is practically ready. When 24ora.com spoke with Jeon, he was recording the final song.
The new album is set to be released in the summer season.
MOTHER’S DAY
Jeon also recorded a song for Mother’s Day, along with his mother’s favorite artist, Boy Thode, which is the best gift. His mother has always been a fan of this known artist. Since Jeon was a child, he listened to Boy Thode at home. For him, it’s a dream come true to record a song for his mother with Boy Thode. This song will be released this week. The song is called ‘Ma’. By the way, his mother has already listened to it and loved it. She couldn’t believe her son did it with Boy Thode. “My mom was very happy.”
MUSIC VIDEO SHOOT
Jeon shot a video for one of the songs on the album, which turned out very well. Edward Silberie was involved in the video, and it’s an international project. The videos are now coming out in higher quality, with a much larger team. They are working in Miami to have a bigger team and more material to do what they want to do now, even though they have done some projects in Aruba.
ALBUM TITLE
The album already has a title, but Jeon doesn’t want to disclose it yet. The title holds a lot of significance as Jeon is an island boy who isn’t Latino or Spanish. He’s an Aruban who spoke no other language but Papiamento. It’s a Caribbean name identifying Jeon.
Now, we just have to wait patiently for the moment when Jeon releases his new album to the world.
