Serlimar unable to pay November’s salaries

Selimar will be unable to pay November’s salaries. The employees of the company were informed of this by an internal memo sent this morning by the director of the company, Anko Koopmans.

The situacion of the company remains critical and there is no outlook on it’s recovery. Especially now that it is considered an “add-on” of a minister, since they have been informed that no one else will be named now that Marisol Lopez-Tromp has been fired. The situation remains critical due to the fact that Serlimar received its last funds from the Government in October, which was used to pay salaries and other payments that were due.

They are waiting on the debate by Parliament on the supplementary budget, which is scheduled to take place this morning, to see how the situacion at Serlimar will continue. They are hoping that the sum of 6.5 million, which was approved in March of this year, will be included in the supplementary budget. However, they fear that even if the sum gets approved, the Government will not know where to get this money from.
