Centro pa Hoben y Famia is one of the projects of the Sociaal Crisisplan that will focus on preventive measures. Centro pa Hoben y Famia is a unique concept where institutes who work on preventive measures come together under one roof to offer the community of Aruba their services.
Their goal is to provide information, guidance, and support for parents, families, educators, and professionals working in raising children. They will also offer educative programs for children and teenagers to stimulate their social-emotional development and work on their personality and leadership abilities.
During the virtual opening of the center, a few parliamentarians visited the center. They received a presentation and a tour to get to know each institute in Centro pa Hoben y Famia.
The institutes are as following: Tienda di Educacion, Fundacion Respeta Mi, Fundacion pa Nos Muchanan, Stichting Wit Gele Kruis, Departamento Asuntonan Social, Fundacion Anti Droga Aruba, Stichting ADRA y Heart Centered Leadership Foundation.
Next to those institutes, there is a platform of institutes that supports preventive work and work closely with the institutesof this Center. These institutes are: Telefon pa Hubentud, Korps Politie Aruba, Fundacion pa Nos Comunidad, Dienst Publieke scholen, Buro Sostenemi, Stichting Katholieke Scholen Aruba, Fundacion Famia Plania, Asociacion Trabou di Hubentud Aruba, Directie Voogdijraad, Stichting Protestants Onderwijs Aruba, Jeugdgezondheidszorg, Casa Cuna, Veiligheidshuis, Kinderhuis Imeldahof, Fundacion Guiami, Slachtofferhulp, Respaldo, Jeugd Zedenpolitie, etc.
Centro pa Hoben y Famia’s plan for 2021 is to make the center known in our community. Will focus on creating a campaign to raise awareness, continue the course for teen mothers, continue with studies for future teen parents, initiate guidance for fathers/men, offer monthly information classes for mothers, start with social training skills for kids and teenagers and start a group for teens by teens.
