Benny Nisbet (PPA) passed away

Moments ago, Eddie Bennet, a PPA member, confirmed that the politician Benny Nisbet passed away at Dr. Horacio E. Oduber Hospital. He was fighting for his life, and although he had won many battles regarding his health, tonight, he lost the fight. A politician with many years of experience, and was once a Parliamentarian and a Minister. He has one of Orde van Oranje-Nassau’s highest honors, as ‘Commandeur,’ one only a few people have. Watty Vos, Benny Nisbet, and ex-Governor Freddis Refunjol have it.

Benedict Nisbet was born in Aruba on July 21, 1953, and is the political leader of PPA. “Benny Nisbet” as everyone called him, participated in the election in September 2017 with a combined list together with UPP, and they received 656 votes combined. Benny Nisbet became less popular during the last elections. In 1997 he received 968 votes; in 2001, he dropped to 931; in 2005 e dropped to 463; and in 2009, he received only 329 votes and in 2013, 245 votes, while in 2017, he only got 150 votes.

Our deepest condolences to his wife, family, friends, and voters, especially those of San Nicolas, who had always loved and supported Benny Nisbet. May Benny rest in peace.
