Friday around 12:25 am, information was received that a tourist was found dead in a room at the Marriott’s Surf Club Aruba. The protocol was activated, and all concerning institutes were notified. Police arrived quickly at the hotel, while the hotel’s security guard made sure to close all entrances to the hotel and controlled everyone who wanted to enter the property.
The police headed to the hotel room and found ambulance personnel trying to revive the male tourist. Unfortunately, much could not be done for the man. Dr. Texier was called, and by 1:45 am, the doctor pronounced the man with initials S.R.M., 54, with American nationality, dead.
BFTO team, together with detectives, who also arrived at the scene, started investigating the situation.
For security reasons, the body was confiscated pending the results of the investigation.
