DVG: the first batch of the vaccine is foreseen to be finished this Thursday

It has only been 2 weeks since Aruba got its first batch of 11700 Pfizer vaccines on the 16th of February, and yet it seems that the majority will be finished this coming Thursday the 4th of March. According to the national vaccination plan, the first batch of 11700 vaccines was destined for those who work in the care sector and those age 60 and up.

According to the planning, the second batch of 11700 vaccines will be arriving in Aruba in the week of March 8th, exactly 3 weeks after the first batch. This second batch will serve as the second dose for the 11700 people who have already received the vaccine.

In the week of the 29th of March DVG expects the third batch to arrive, which will then go to the remaining care workers and people age 60 and over who did not manage to get vaccinated yet. Aruba is expected to receive a new batch of vaccines every three weeks, depending on the demands of the community.

In the coming weeks that Aruba is expecting vaccines, it is essential that the community keeps registering. Currently, vaccines are scarce all around the world, but Aruba’s government is trying their best to deliberate with The Netherlands to receive the necessary number of vaccines to be able to comply with Aruba’s demand.

As previously mentioned, it is crucial that the community continues to register for the vaccine in the coming weeks. It is important to be registered so that when the next batch of vaccines that is scheduled to arrive, reaches Aruba, you will be notified to receive the vaccination. To register you can either download the Aruba Health App, visit either www.dvg.aw or www.arubacovid19.org, or go to any MFA building around Aruba.
