Many questions unanswered for Siki Tromp’s family

On the 11th of September 2020, the 48- year – old Xignara – “Siki” – Tromp became one of the 78 victims of the COVID-19 virus. To this day, her family still has a million and one questions as to what they could have done differently for her to still be alive today.

On the 13th of March 2020, COVID-19 arrived at Aruba and took the lives of many loved ones on the island. Some of these losses were caused by complications resulting from the virus, but initially a lot of the losses were caused by negligence or a lack of a faster system to provide these people with proper help.

With tears in their eyes, Siki’s siblings remember the moment she became ill and all the attempts they made to get her medical attention right up until 6:00 AM on the 11th of September of 2020 when they found her in bed no longer showing signs of life.

“What could we have done differently?” is one of the many questions that her sister Ginette Tromp, who lived in the same house as Siki, and Magaly Maduro-Tromp keeps asking.
