Bishop cancels the decree for Aruba

The Willemstad Bishop has informed us that he has canceled the decree made for Aruba after having conversed with the Aruban Government.

The new letter states: First of all, I would like to thank the Aruban Government and Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes for the proper dialogue between government and the Willemstad Bishop. I would also like to congratulate Aruba for the good work with regard to all the work they do to help keep the public as safe as possible.

After releasing the decree that went in on the 26th of March 2021, I release the following decree.

1.       After receiving a letter from Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes that stated that the situation in Aruba is not as dire as it is in  Curaçao and Bonaire.

2.       After taking notice of the measures that will be implemented on Aruba.

Bishop Luis a. Secco cancels the decree that was to go in on the 26th of March 2021. This cancellation is applied immediately. All of the church’s hours and religious activity will have to be adapted according to the curfew’s new hours.

Let us continue praying and complying with the measures put in place in our churches and on Aruba to be able to save lives and stay healthy together.
